Não sei se entendi o trocadilho, mas se a intenção é manter a sonoridade coordenada entre 'arte' e 'tarde' esta é uma sugestão.
Embora seja mais raro que 'late', a palavra 'tardy' também existe no sentido de 'atrasado'. 'Tardiness' é usado no contexto escolar como 'hábito de atrasar'.
