Acolhimento, 02:14 Mar 26, 2014
the way I see it is the very first moment or contact, when the needy person is taken into some institution. It's a process of induction (sort of), when the institution prepares the person to the kind of hosting and treatment he/she is about to receive. I don't think induction would be appropriate here, so I called it "take-in service". It's not housing, lodging or sheltering; these terms are covered by the next term of the original text, "abrigamento". "Outreach", on the other hand, encompasses a lot more than only "acolhimento". It would be, perhaps, an excellent choice for the entire scope of services of the relevant institution. |
