'Tribunal do Coração (júri popular sui generis no qual, quatro vezes por semana, entravam em julgamento “chamas que tecem o mundo dos conflitos sentimentais”);

this is part of a list of popular Brazilian television programmes of the 50s/60s - Tribunal do Coração being one such program. The description in quotation marks is taken from a contemporary magazine. I'm having trouble coming up with a suitable translation - I think I'm slightly confused by the use of 'chamas' and 'tecem' together (flames? weaving?). I'm looking for something with a similarly 'cheesy' style!

flames - don\'t usually \'weave\' but \'dance\' or \'lick\'.

I haven't gone with any of these answers exactly - there were some lovely cheesy ones but I think they strayed just a bit too far from the original. But Steven, you did help me particularly with your note - I'm going to use 'flickering' because I think it's close to 'weave' but much more flame-like!

flames that ignite the fabric of emotional conflict

Explanation:
I think "ignite" would go better with "chamas" (flames). I have chosen the word "fabric" as it fits the idea of weaving ("tecem").
