Thrall of Grim the Bald Explanation: "Grimskalle" is possibly a reference to Grim, known as Grim the Bald because he lost his hair early, or to his son Egil Skallagrimsson, Viking skald and psychopathic killer. You can learn more about this fascinating character in Egil's Saga. A "trell" is a thrall (a slave, serf or bondman). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-05-30 18:52:33 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The name \"Skallagrim\" means \"Grim the Bald\" or \"Bald Grim\", but it may have been turned round to create a play on words, as grimskalle would mean something like \"hideous skull\". |
