Norwegian term or phrase: kantsteinsvis
In a report on a road construction project:
Kantsteinsvis for nedsenket kantstein skal være 1,5 cm.
I'm thinking it might be the 'drop', but it's only a guess.

curb height
Explanation:
Statens Vegvesen definerer det som "Den delen av kantsteinen som er synlig, sett fra siden". Prestesæter har oppslagsordet uten fuge-s, altså kansteinvis, og angir curb height som engelsk term.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Leif. Many thanks for your quick response. Curb height makes perfect sense. Maybe my addition of an 's' is what has hampered my search!

Asker: Thanks eodd. It is the British English version I will be using.

agree  eodd: May I just add that curb is US English and kerb is UK English. Not sure which one you are after.

agree  Michael Ellis: Agree, and also agree eodd. But 1.5cm seems very low for a kerb.
