Norwegian to English translations [PRO]
Science - Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Norwegian term or phrase: bekjempningsmiddel
Context: Health and safety policy for waste disposal in a laboratory environment. It lists certain chemicals that must be disposed of in a certain way. This item stands alone in this list.
Really, it could be anything from rat poison to something you use in the garden, couldn't it? I need a generic term that will cover all eventualities.

I thought you might want something like that. It's just that bekæmpelsesmiddel in Danish is pesticide/insecticide according to the dictionaries.

biological agents won't do I think because there is no guarantee that the agents are biological, probably more likely to be chemical.

Notes to answerer
Asker: A bit too specific here, Diarmuid. I was thinking about some kind of "* agents" (biological agents, perhaps?)

Asker: I had just found that one, too, Diarmuid. I'll check it out more tomorrow. Thanks for your efforts.

antibiotics

Explanation:
If this item ia part of a list of disposable items, then I would suggest "antibiotics", since they are among the things tested/made in a laboratory environment and would have to be disposed in a proper manner.
