... even though the Second Applicant is the first wife of the First Applicant. Explanation: this is how i understand it: 1) the Second Applicant's status is that of first wife because though the Respondent was once married to the First Applicant, being divorced, her status now is that of ex/former (first) wife. In Malay this status is known as "Janda" 2) assuming the First Applicant currently has more than one wife and of all the wives, the Second Applicant is married to the First Applicant before the other wife(wives), then she now technically assumes the role of the First Applicant's first wife. hope that makes sense. |
