Paaiškinu, kas tai yra:
Žaidinimai – tai trumpi, nesudėtingų judesių lydimi vaizdingi kūrinėliai, prasmingi ir beprasmiai ketureiliai. Čia vaikas dar nežaidžia savarankiškai, jis žaidinamas suaugusiųjų. Žaidinimas nuramina verkiantį vaiką, prajuokina, palaiko džiugią nuotaiką, suteikia elementarių žinių apie aplinką.
Populiariausi žaidinimai vaiko pirščiukais, delnukais, rankutėmis, mažylio supimas, šokdinimas ant kelių, pėdos ir pan. Žaidindami vaiką suaugusieji atlieka tam tikrus judesius: mažylį glaudžia, myluoja, sūpuoja, kutena, kilnoja, mėto ir pan. Taip vaikas ne tik nuraminamas, prajuokinamas, praskaidrinama jo nuotaika, bet ir lavinamas jo dėmesys, jis grūdinamas fiziškai, supažindinamas su daiktais ir reiškiniais.
Tai yra mažoji lietuvių liaudies kūrybos forma, naudota vaikų ugdymui.

Infant amusements, a special kind of nursery rhymes, are performed by singing or reciting very short verses and are accompanied by a certain movement: rocking, stroking, massaging, tickling, bouncing on the leg or the knee, playing with hands, fingers. The singers call them in different ways: cuddling, "riding", "trotting", "sawing", clapping, etc. The verse of these pieces has elements of a very short tale, with either birds and animals acting in them or children themselves becoming the heroes who ride the horses, cook porridge, etc. Infant amusements are intended to entertain the small ones, to make them active, to develop their attention, coordination, to stimulate their swiftness.
