substantial buildings Explanation: Jeigu čia nori nurodyti pastatus, kurie nėra nei monolitiniai, nei plytiniai, nei blokiniai – tai kas liko? Kažkokie laikini pastatai, site offices, sandėliukai – gal išvežami? Aš suprantu „kapitalinius pastatus“ kaip "substantial buildings". Nesiūlau "permanent", nes žodis „kapitaliniai“ to nepasako. Tik sako, kad buvo brangu juos pastatyti (kadangi jie monolitiniai, plytiniai, blokiniai). |

sturdy buildings Explanation: Manau čia yra tas atvejis, kai susiduriame su ne visai "tiksliu" originalo tekstu ir pažodinis vertimas gali iškreipti prasmę. Kalbama ne apie brangius pastatyti , o apie tvirtos konstrukcijos pastatus. Terminas "kapitaliniai pastatai" dabartinėje lietuvių k. statybos terminologijoje nebevartojamas. Bent jau nei Statybos įstatyme, nei statybos techniniuose reglamentuose neteko sutikti. |

buildings, edifices Explanation: Their juxtaposition goes like this: (A) kapitalinis pastatas = building, edifice http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Building (“To better understand the term building compare the list of nonbuilding structures.”) and (B) pastatai, išskyrus monolitinius, plytinius, blokinius ir kitus kapitalinius pastatus (etc.) = non-building structures http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonbuilding_structure Note, classifications may differ, see: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonbuilding_structure#Excepti... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 days (2018-04-16 16:33:38 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- To Marija. Yes, you might also have to change "buildings" to "built structures" (or simply "structures"). Like here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Structure "The results of construction are divided into buildings and non-building structures, and make up the infrastructure of a human society. BUILT STRUCTURES are broadly divided by their varying design approaches and standards, into categories including building structures, architectural structures, civil engineering structures and mechanical structures." ... Or see if "edifices" fits within the terminology used in the project.
