Japanese term or phrase: 数学は大変だから、よくわかりません
I was given three sentences to see which one is grammatically and culturally correct. I had no problems with the first one; it was straight forward. But I'm not so sure about sentences 2 and 3. Can anyone help?

1. 数学は難しいから、よくわかりません -OK
2. 数学は大変だから、よくわかりません - Not OK?
3. 数学はわかりにくいから、よくわかりません - Not OK?

数学は難しいから、よくわかりません
Explanation:
2. is OK, as quite often "taihen" means "muzukashii". For instance "Sono shigoto wa honto ni **taihen** deshita." However, 3. is out ot cultural and grammertical context. Of course some native Japanese would use such expression, but only a child, or in very casual or in informal situation.

I agree with your sample sentence "sono shigoto wa honto ni taihen deshita" but "suugaku wa taihen dakara, yoku wakarimasen" doesn't sound right to me. Thanks.
