Interesting!!

In India, many companies visit university campuses to conduct recruitment drives.
In the case of reputed, top ranked universities, it is not uncommon for as many as 50 to 60 % of Final Year students to have got placed even before they have completed the course.

This discussion is very enlightening and informative about the job seeking exercise, given the fact that 就職活動 is a more systematic activity than in most other countries.

Now, to give the bigger context of this questionnaire - its purpose is rather informal - to study the frequency of words that are used in such situations. So, I think "those with a job offer" is in keeping with the context.

I like your approach, Port City. Reading between the lines is often the best and sometimes the only way to nail down what is actually happening below the surface of the written word, and I take your point on this one. So that is one of the possibilities regarding this particular group. On the other hand, one could wonder why should that group have been contacted then to fill that questionnaire if they were not in the market that year? :-)

I think 就職活動経験なし refers to those who are not seeking employment such as those who have chosen to study further. It's natural they don't have a job seeking experience as they don't need to get employed.

Anyway, we just helped the asker to get the meaning of the term and the actual translation can be different to suit the document.

So, some background detail may be lost in our tentative translation here, but:
a) the dynamics and focus of the point made in the original is preserved in the translations submitted;
b) given the specialised level of the passage, the target readership factor does not call for an explicit rendering of the 内定 process. If ever it did, it could be supplemented by a 'TN' footnote.
Yet, There could be a simple way not to lose that 'informal' side of the 内定 prospection process on which this contrast operates, namely：
ー qualifying the two job-hunter groups as the applying groups v.s. the group approached with offers of employment.
- There may be better solutions... All welcome... :-)

There appears to be two sides to this 内定 process:
- the job offer is necessarily formally made to the individual invited to join the company concerned;
- but the decision to select him/her has been the result of a pro-active informal preliminary prospection and short listing on the part of the company concerned.
Now, this latter informal pre-selection aspect upon which the formal job offer is being made is not reflected in our offerings so far. Should it be? Perhaps yes, perhaps No. This depends on the focus of the context.

内定取得 is listed as 1 of 3 categories of prospective subjects appointed to a position. All 3, I assume, refer to young university graduates, but some with-, some with no-, job hunting experience and/or with different qualification levels.
The contrast between the 3 groups rests on the circumstances under which each landed their jobs (i.e. applying for a job, whether or not for the first time, v.s. being offered one without having applied for it), and the renderings already uploaded supply enough information to register the contrast which the context requires.
