Japanese term or phrase: 落差
I'm having trouble coming up with a good rendition of this term in the context it's presented. The phrase is ドイツと日本との落差。The general point of the passage is that Germany has reconciled its differences with the former Allies of WW2, but Japan hasn't. Just translating it as the "differences" between Germany and Japan isn't quite sufficient enough. Does somebody have a better suggestion?
