Fukuju / Fukuyu

English translation: Longevity Tea

Japanese term or phrase: Fukuju / Fukuyu
I have a loose-leaf tea here called "Sencha Fukuju" (or perhaps "Sencha Fukuyu"). Sencha is a type of tea, but could someone please tell what "Fukuju" means or refers to in this tea name?

I think Cinefil had a very good answer, only did not translate it into English. Fukuju has the kanji 福寿 which literally means "longevity". However, usually with food names we keep them in romaji (don't translate them). Of course, this depends on the context of your translation.

agree  Nathan Takase: Indeed. Fukuju is simply a popular and high-quality type of sencha, and should be left as-is. The meaning includes both longevity and happiness, although Longevity Tea sounds much better than Happiness and Longevity Tea ;)
