blue and white cheeses Explanation: I usually see them simply referred to as blue cheese and white cheese here in Canada. I haven't seen one particular kind of cheese called white cheese (they go by specific names like Brie, Camembert, etc.) while many blue cheeses are called blue cheese, although some of them are called more specifically like Stilton and Gorgonzola. |

Blue cheese, Camembert cheese Explanation: This page shows the type of cheese, including "白カビタイプ" and "青カビタイプ" http://www.chesco.co.jp/encyc/grounding/type.html You can find the "青カビタイプ" is also called "ブルーチーズ" (blue cheese). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_cheese My suggestion is to use the specific name of cheese for "白カビタイプ", such as Camembert cheese http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camembert_(cheese) or Brie cheese, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brie_(cheese) which are similar but from different regions. I want additional comments from someone who are knowledgeable about cheese. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 mins (2007-06-25 15:05:57 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I found other answers after I sent this answer. They seem to be better than mine, actually. |
