steel tubing buried in the ground Explanation: 埋め込む=埋める = definition: bury (Shogakukan J-E Dictionary) 理込み bury in the ground 鋼管 steel tubing steel tubing that's buried in the ground -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2010-06-03 11:52:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or, I think that "underground steel tubing" can work (depending on the context of the translation). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2010-06-03 12:31:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here is the definition of "ikekomu" from the following website: http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/leaf/jn/8435/m0u/いけ/ いけこむ 【▽埋け込む】 • (動マ五[四]) • 地面や灰を掘って埋める。 • o 「炭火を火鉢に—・む」 • 可能動詞 いけこめる • • ◆アクセント : いけこむ 0 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day9 mins (2010-06-04 04:59:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Yes, you are correct. The kanji are different.... As I had commented to cinefil, "I think I need glasses." When I first saw the kanji, I actually saw it as 埋 instead of 理. But now, it looks perhaps to be a typo where 理込み should have been 埋込 i(ke)-ko(mu)...bury in the ground. I really don't know since I do not know your translation details, but if it's about earth-quake proofing, it is a possibility. |
