[ dal lat. mediev. gilda o gelda , di etimo incerto ]. – Tipo di associazione medievale che, sorta in Inghilterra nel sec. 9 ° con lo scopo di mutua difesa, di assistenza religiosa e di vendetta, si sviluppò in seguito in senso mercantile e artigiano acquistando la funzione economica delle corporazioni medievali in Francia, Italia, Germania e Paesi Bassi, e divenendo, nel sec. 13 °, elemento regolatore nei rapporti di lavoro, professionali e commerciali.

Sono imbranatissima e ho dei seri problemi per tradurre il termine. Qualche idea?
