Fondo america
Una particolare lavorazione mediante la quale la tomaia, il sottopiede e la suola vengono cuciti assieme da rovescio, lasciando però una piccola apertura sulla punta per l'inserimento della zeppa (in corrispondenza del tallone) e del feltro (nella parte anteriore). Successivamente l'apertura viene cucita con un'apposita macchina, la tomaia nuovamente rivoltata e la calzatura è pronta per essere messa in forma.
Questa lavorazione è tipicamente impiegata nella produzione di pantofole da camera. Il risultato finale garantisce flessibilità, morbidezza ed una incredibile leggerezza ed esteticamente, grazie alla peculiare lavorazione, la calzatura non presenterà alcuna cucitura visibile.
