Lied di Luciano Berio è una breve composizione per clarinetto solo in sib che, sebbene non ascritta al gruppo delle Sequenze, presenta numerose analogie con procedimenti compositivi che possiamo rintracciare in molte di esse. Questa analisi intende individuare i nuclei fondamentali dell’opera, relativamente alle altezze, durate e intensità, mostrandone la pertinenza in rapporto alla loro distribuzione. Dal punto di vista metodologico ci serviremo principalmente della Pitch-class Set Theory che, come noto, si occupa unicamente delle configurazioni di altezze; imposteremo poi l’applicazione di alcune metodiche insiemistiche anche per il parametro ritmico e dinamico.


Il parametro timbro non viene preso in esame, non riscontrando, in questo brano, una differenziazione timbrica tale da permettere una seriazione e un trattamento insiemistico.

Non riesco a capire il significato di seriazione. E' un termine statistico o può anche riguardare l'archeologia ma non riesco a trovare il termine in tedesco.
