Il tracciato attraversa tutte le principali unità presenti nel corridoio, già descritte nella Relazione Intermedia (note illustrative del rilevamento geologico) e in quella Finale. In sintesi, da sud a nord si incontrano: (1) il granito di Bressanone (Alpi Meridionali), (2) la lamella tonalitica di Mules, (3) la fascia di Austroalpino a sud della Finestra dei Tauri, (4) la falda del Glockner (calcescisti, pietre verdi e corpi esotici) e (5) la sottostante unità di Tulver-Senges, esposta solo ai lati del tracciato; nel sottosuolo è verosimile siano presenti (6) anche lo Gneiss centrale e le coperture associate, affioranti 15 km a est del corridoio.
