Medical - Medical: Instruments / trocars
Italian term or phrase: zigrinatura o filettatura
Can someone tell me what the difference is between these two terms regarding the design of trocars? "Zigrinatura" is mainly used in my text but "filettatura" is also used and when they are differentiated like that I am not sure what other word might be used in English.

Thanks in advance!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks Liz, no, I didn't find "knurled" either for it, though "ridging" had come to mind.
