Italian term or phrase: affossamenti dei somi vertebrali
From CT scan of a patient with unexplained pain in the site of a hip replacement and who has basically had an X-ray of the area and CT scans of the entire spine. This is from the CT scan of the dorsal (thoracic) spine. Just not sure how to render it in English. Compression? Loss of height? Am I even on the right track?
TAC-rachide dorsale: discopatie plurime.
Non immagini compatibili con focolai di frattura né affossamenti dei somi vertebrali.

Piccole ernie discali calcifiche in sede mediana, paramediana dx a livello D11-D12 e in sede L1-L2.

Hoping someone can set me straight on this. Thanks

concave vertebral bodies

5 Oct 2017 - A concave posterior border of the vertebra is more likely a sign of a benign osteoporotic fracture, in particular if there is some retropulsion of bony parts into the spinal canal, while a convex posterior border suggests malignant disease (5).

disagree  Joseph Tein: The "soma" in the link you provided refers to neurons, not spinal vertebrae; it does not apply here.. The standard translation of "soma" in the case of vertebrae is "body."
