Il movimento di va e vieni che ne risulta, detto anche movimento basculante, ha due scopi principali: consente allo strato appena formato di staccarsi dal fondo della vasca, e allo stesso tempo permette ad una nuova quantità di resina liquida non polimerizzata di interporsi tra lo strato appena formato e il fondo del recipiente, per consentire il rinnovo di materiale ancora allo stato liquido sotto allo strato già solidificato, per l’indurimento e la formazione dello strato successivo.
