This is from a set of notes provided by the manufacturer for correcting defects on a backrest (e.g. removing burrs, rings and various production marks). I'm afraid this is all the context I have.

I denti per il bloccaggio della mostrina risultano mancanti
Eliminare bava

I've found various words for 'alette', including 'fins', and I'm wondering if this is the one that fits the context best. Any confirmation/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA
