Italian term or phrase: conservazione vs memorizzazione
I'm translating a decree (Decreto del Presidente dei Ministri 3 dicembre 2013) which details the technical rules for the storage of electronic or digital documents.
I've been translating the term "conservazione" with "storage"; but now, in the glossary section, I find "memorizzazione", which I would also translate with storage, but I can't - I would either have to change "conservazione" into something else, or find another term for "memorizzazione".

To be precise, in the document I'm translating the term memorizzazione is defined as follows:
"processo di trasposizione su un qualsiasi idoneo supporto, attraverso un processo di elaborazione, di documenti analogici o informatici"

Any ideas?

thank you in advance!
