Non mi risulta che la ISO 1000, relativa alle unità di misura, sia cambiata e autorizzi la variazione dei simboli in relazione al carattere maiuscolo di scrittura. L'unico simbolo che ha il carattere minuscolo o maiuscolo e si può usare in alternativa è quello del litro che può scriversi l oppure L. Quindi non sono d'accordo sulla tua affermazione. Se questo fosse vero allora con i caratteri minuscoli potrei scrivere c (per coulomb) in luogo di C, oppure v (volt) in luogo di V, oppure w (watt) in luogo di W, pa (pascal) in luogo di Pa e così via.
Se uno guarda in Internet troverà errori madornali, che però è bene evitare; in Italia spesso viene usato mt o ml (metro lineare) in luogo di m (metro), Km invece di km, gr in luogo di g (grammo), Volt in luogo di volt (V), e mi fermo qui per non tediare i lettori.

You say it's part of a sign - what does the rest say? If they're in trouble, which presumably means broken down, how do they travel at 30 km/h, and where do they get these escort vehicles from?

separate meanings in Italian and just one very specific meaning in English. The term I'm translating relates to motorway emergencies during heavy snow and has nothing whatsoever to do with race tracks!

Hi Ivana. Just to let you know that "safety car" is the car put out on racetracks during races when there are bad conditions/danger or an accident and all other cars must follow this (usually at slow speed) until such time as the obstacle/danger or weather is cleared...

I think "escort vehicle" might give wrong idea
