flat trunk Explanation: You could say 'flat trunk floorboard' or 'flat floorboard in the trunk'. I had a Saab 900 for quite some time and I always referred to this as a "flat trunk". In fact, the seats went completely flat on this car and I put a mattress down flat. This is a typical American way of saying this. Perhaps it makes no sense it doesn't really describe it in a technical sense, but it is common terminology. |

level of the opening Explanation: This is talking about something having a wide enough opening to place cumbersome objects into something with greater ease. I do not believe that "a filo" needs a literal translation in this case. "Soglia" the threshold, entrance or in English we would say opening to the trunk (if a car) or hatch (boat or plane). "Del piano" means "of the level", hence, level of the opening. "Thanks to a (the) regular wide trunk and level of the opening, you can easily load even cumbersome (awkward, large) objects." |
