I am often struggling with this apparently simple Italian term.

Now I have this sentence: "L’interesse intorno al quartiere si fa sempre più vivo e si susseguono le aperture di nuovi locali e gallerie."
From the context it is not clear what kind of locali it refers to. It could be clubs, but it could also be eateries and coffee shops.
What would be a generic and fitting term in English for this?
I have already considered "premises", but I am not convinced, because it seems to me that premises indicates the physical space while locali points to the function of a place.

My non-final translation goes like this: The neighborhood is attracting increasingly more interest, and new _______ and galleries are opening/being opened every day.

There isn't a one word term I would consider using for locali which Italians commonly use for bars and nightlife venues but also maybe eateries.

You could ask the client exactly what type of place they are referring to.
In my opinion
Venue sounds too specific (entertainment)
Businesses sounds too much like work!
Clubs sounds too much like loud music!
