Knives, forks, scissors, flames, have no place in children's games
Explanation: Szerintem sem annyira gyakori az angol változat, mint a mienk, de azért létezik: "Knives, forks, scissors, flames, have no place in children's games" Az angolban valahogy természetesebben hangzik a többes szám, talán mivel a scissors nem használt egyes számban. A mondóka jelleget érdemes megtartani a fordításban akkor, ha lényeges, hogy a szöveg segítségével a kicsiket tanítjuk a biztonságra. Felnőtt olvasók számára készülő anyagban magyarázó fordítás is megfelelhet. Érdekes módon a német verzió is nagyon hasonló ezekhez, a szórend is ugyanaz, és ahol az angol a "flames" szóval fejezi be, ott a német "licht"-et használ helyette: Messer, Gabel, Schere, Licht sind für kleine Kinder nicht! (knives, forks, scissors, lights are not for small children) http://www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/[German nursery rhyme to... Komolyabb szövegekben, ahol a rím nem fontos, leggyakrabban "light" vagy "fire" áll a felsorolás végén, pl.: "Knives, forks, scissors, light Children experience the world by discovering, trying out and pushing frontiers. Of course, nobody wants something to happen to them. Therefore, certain safety measures are necessary." http://www.projectnesting.org/knives-forks-scissors-light/ "Keep knives, forks, scissors, and other sharp utensils in a drawer with a safety latch." http://kidshealth.org/parent/firstaid_safe/home/safety_cuts....
