Az alanyi adómentes = non-taxable (person), a tárgyi adómentes exempt (activity), l. link, vagyis a magyar alanyi/tárgyi nem fordítható, csak az értelme vihető át:
- ha valakinek alanyi mentessége van, az csak azt jelenti, hogy ő, mint személy kapja ezt (ahogyan más nem élhet például a diák- vagy nagycsaládos kedvezménnyel),
- ha valami tárgyi adómentes, akkor attól az illető minden más tevékenysége után fizet, de azt az egyet már nem kell leadóznia (mert azt senkinek sem kell, az egy olyan tevékenység)
