Test plots Explanation: Could this refer to test plots? i.e. when testing pesticides certain plots are sprayed and others (test plots) are not. I found this: שעור הנגיעות בפירות שלא רוסס כלל (היקש) היה בשיעור עד 25% שהוא שעור גבוה ונזק פוטנציאלי רב ליבול תמרים from: http://www.plants.org.il/plants/www/allfiles/TamarMop10.pdf And the link shows how "test plots" seems to correlate to the description. "Analogy" plots just doesn't have the same resonance in English :) I'm not as sure on this question, used up all my remaining brain cells on the last question, but this would be my guess. Control plots Explanation: Hello again! I was having tip of the tongue phenomenon with this one, I think "control plots" might be another possibility. (for the untreated plots) as these are the ones which form a baseline for comparison with the pesticide treated plots. "A control plot serves as a baseline to compare other treatments" I think either choice is possible though. Reference: http://www.biology-online.org/dictionary/Control_plot |
