In support of Dave Bindon's answer, the Ναύσταθμος Κρήτης appears to be called the Naval Dock Crete both by the Greek Navy and Wikipedia. (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Souda_Bay and http://www.hellenicnavy.gr/index.php?option=com_content&view... In other cases, we have to use the English names that the Greek ministries or government departments call objects or places and therefore I think we should do so in this case, too. Also, with regard to Evdoxia’s comment regarding the English translation of the word Διεύθυνση, I don’t you would ever find a section or part of a navy called a “Directorate” in any English speaking country.
