pólis khrisokhús Explanation: I don't know what phonetic symbols you are familiar with, so: pólis is pronounced like 'police' but with the stress on the first syllable as in 'polish' In khrisokhús you've got to be careful with the Greek 'kh' sound. Practise with 'khróma' (=colour) here: http://www.forvo.com/word/χρώμα/#el The stress is on the last syllable and the -s- sounds are again like the final -s- sound in 'police'. |
