With respect to my fellow professionals, I don't think 'achieved' is quite right here, unless it's used with a qualifier, for example: a result close to the ideal was achieved.

agree  Dylan Edwards: I'm no expert, but I think this is all about approximation (fuzziness?). Surely there's a good reason why the verb προσεγγίστηκε is used?
