Vor acht Jahren erst begann sich Randall für mögliche Zusatzdimensionen des Universums zu interessieren. Eine kleine Gruppe von Kollegen hatte da schon einen Vorsprung ***von fa Jahren***. Anfang der achtziger Jahre hatten sie entdeckt, dass sich eine Vielzahl bisher rätselhafter Phänomene erklären ließ, wenn man annimmt, dass die Welt in Wirklichkeit nicht aus Teilchen, sondern aus aberwitzig winzigen Fädchen besteht.

Das sieht wie ein Typo aus, aber was sollte da eigentlich stehen? Ein "Autotext entry", vielleicht?
