Dois aliados (raças distintas) conversam num bar sobre a situação desagradável de estar à mercê de outro povo. Segue-se o seguinte diálogo:

“Selbstverständlich”, erwiderte der XX. Mit einem Nicken bedankte er sich bei Maria, als die junge Frau den Tee servierte. “Wir sind zu schwach, unsere Gegner zu stark. Das Risiko ist zu groß, daß die ZZ eines Tages herausfinden, wo wir uns vor ihnen versteckt halten. Wie sagt ihr Menschen, alles alte Hüte!”
“Das mag sein”, erklärte Hans. “Aber es ist heutzutage nicht ratsam, ohne Hut zu gehen.”

acho que a expressao acima melhor descreve o significado. É difícil dizer exatamente a mesma coisa, mas creio que os significados das duas sao bastante semelhantes
