Unter „Entgilbung“ ist eine reversible (hauptsächlich gelbliche) Farbveränderung von UV-härtenden Beschichtungsstoffen (z.B. Lacken, Tinten) direkt nach der UV-Härtung zu verstehen. Ursache hierfür ist die Bildung von farbigen, instabilen Reaktionsprodukten, gebildet unter dem Einfluss der enthaltenen Photoinitiatoren. Die direkt nach der UV-Härtung beobachtete, maximale Gelbfärbung verringert sich nach längerer Ablagerung deutlich.
