Die Alpen, das ***Wasserschloss*** Europas.
L'argomento è la funzione di risorsa idrica attribuita ai ghiacciai. Ora, è chiaro che potrei rendere Wasserschloss con risorsa idrica ma mi chiedo se esista un termine più specifico, o più efficace. Il fatto è che non so come spiegarmi l'origine dell'espressione tedesca, diventata ormai una frase fatta. Oltre a indicare un castello circondato dall'acqua (e l'immagine mi sembra poco calzante - semmai, dovrebbe essere un castello che l'acqua la contiene), Wasserschloss è anche un termine tecnico dell'ingegneria (vedi http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasserschloss_(Ingenieurwesen))... Tra le traduzioni inglesi che ho trovato in rete, vi riporto "water reservoir", "water tower" e "moated castle". O è una specie di gioco di parole, in cui al termine originario (castello circondato dall'acqua) si attribuisce un nuovo significato, invertendo per così dire il dentro e il fuori?

Interessante Frage, Katia. Aber das Wort hat doch zwei Bedeutungen, zum einen ein Schloss umgeben von Wasser und dann die technische, das heißt ein Wasserbecken in einem Kaftwerk. Von daher hat sich eben dieser Begriff abgeleitet, also im übertragenen Sinn ein großer Wasserreichtum.

Asker: Tausend Dank, Christel. Allerdings verstehe ich noch immer nicht, wie dieser Ausdruck entstanden ist. Wasserschloss hat doch ursprünglich eine ganz andere Bedeutung (von Wasser umgebenes Schloss in einer Niederung).

Asker: Mag sein, allerdings sehe ich keinen Zusammenhang zwischen der hydraulischen Funktion des Wasserschlosses und den Gletschern als Wasserreservoir. Jedenfalls sscheint torri d'acqua doch recht gebräuchlich zu sein. Hier habe ich auch ansatzweise eine Erklärung gefunden: http://www.elicriso.it/it/clima_ambiente/tibet/ In Asien scheint der Wasserturm eine Art Metapher für den Wasser speichernden Himalaya zu sein. Boh...? Jedenfalls vielen herzlichen Dank für deine Hilfe!
