l'écroutage est un procédé d'usinage lourd par enlèvement de copeaux. Il s’agit d’usiner des barres forgées afin d’enlever la peau oxydée, la croûte de laminage et d’éventuelles fissures superficielles. Le résultat sont des produits semi-finis à partir desquels des pièces tournées sont fabriquées sur des tours automatiques, p.ex. par tourillonnage.

L'écroutage est l'étape avant le tourillonnage. L'alésage et le galetage étant des techniques d'usinage de finition, je pense qu'il s'agit du tourillonnage dans votre cas.
