Je l'ai traduit par "à l'état sauvage" mais j'en viens à me demander si ça ne pourrait pas signifier "spontané"?
Qu'en pensez vous?
Ex. de contexte : "Die in Mitteleurope nur verwildert vorkommende Art [Borretsch] findet man auf Feldern..."

Explanation:
on parle de plantes cultivées retournées à l'état sauvage - il me semble que cela correspond mieux au sens de "verwildern": zur Wildnis werden, (...) von Unkraut, Gras, Gebüsch überwuchert werden (Wahrig)
