"Physisch attraktive Personen werden insgesamt positiver bewertet. Dieses Phänomen wird ***Attraktivitätsstereotyp*** genannt (Walster et al., 1966; Maiworm, 1993; S 26).
Es bewirkt beispielsweise eine höhere Zubilligung von sozialer Intelligenz und Gesellschaftsfähigkeit. Weiters lässt sich beobachten, dass ein hoher Attraktivitätsgrad einer Person auch Folgen auf die Bewertung ihrer Begleitung hat: Einem Mann mit einer attraktiven Frau an seiner Seite werden weit positivere Eigenschaften zugesprochen, als einem mit einer weniger hübschen Frau (Landy & Sigall, 1974)."
