German term or phrase: Schmuckknoten
The horns of ibex bucks have not only annual rings (Jahresfurchen/Jahresringe) but also "Schmuckknoten". The bucks develop one to three "Knoten" per year.

I found "bulges" on this site http://www.cicukteb.com/european-species/alpine-ibex

and I found "knobs" on this site: https://www.interkriti.org/crete/pg/?pg=1509703

and here I found "knots" https://www.researchgate.net/publication/229194212_Ambient_T...

Any zoology experts out there who might help me with the correct (or most commonly used) term? Thank you

agree  Lancashireman: Good refs for 'tubercles' and far more convincing than knots, bulges or knobs. Nothing else on offer, so let the voting begin.
