Found the following explanation online:
Strichloden wiederum stellt eine gesonderte Unterart des Lodens dar, die sich durch spezifische Qualitätsmerkmale auszeichnet. Die Bezeichnung dieses Stoffes leitet sich dabei direkt von dem Arbeitsschritt ab, durch den diese spezielle Art von Loden gefertigt wird – vom so genannten Strichrauen. Unter diesem Begriff versteht man das Anrauen beziehungsweise Kämmen der rechten Gewebeseite mit speziell dafür ausgelegten Werkzeugen wie Stahlkratzen und/oder Naturdisteln.
Wichtig ist in diesem Zusammenhang, dass am Ende sämtliche Fasern in eine Richtung zeigen und so reihenweise übereinander zum Liegen kommen. In der nahen Betrachtung erinnert die angeraute Stoffschicht deshalb an eng verbaute Ziegel.

agree  Herbmione Granger: Teased is better. It's combed with a teasel. Nappy usually has a bad connotation.

  -> I know "nappy" has negative connotations, as in hair and British diapers, but I think napped is fine. It just means the fibres are raised.
