Shaped facing Explanation: "A shaped facing is a separate piece of fabric cut from a pattern to the same shape and on the same grain as the garment edge it will finish." A bit technical, a term from tailoring/dressmaking - maybe fashion designers call it something prettier when selling their creations -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 mins (2013-11-15 09:52:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here's a useful glossary/dictionary - if you like sewing :-) http://stashforgood.com/?p=1526 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 32 mins (2013-11-15 10:06:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Often translated as edging, trim or for instance, when the "Besatz" is "Rüschen, Stickerei or Spitze " ,simply frills, embroidery or lace and the appropriate location on the garment. e.g a filly collar, a lace cuff and similar. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2013-11-15 12:31:06 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- That should, of course be frilly NOT filly Reference: http://fashionbook.forza6.com/catalogo/term_390.html |
