German term or phrase: Kofferband-Besatz
From a clothing catalog:

Karo-Bluse

Checked blouse
3/4-length turn-up sleeves with tab and button for fastening, Kofferband-Besatz on the inside of the button band, buttoned decorative strap on the back yoke and 2 chest flap patch pockets.

"Kofferband" evidently means baggage strap (like a handle on a suitcase) or luggage belt (like at the luggage claim section in the airport). So what the heck is this?

facing

Explanation:
I had asked my wife as a native speaker and needle work artist she knows the term. It is used for button hole facing or button facing as an example.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Facing would work for Besatz, but I was more wondering about the "Kofferband". In line with the other suggestion, though, grosgrain facing sounds good.

unfortunately, I am not an expert, but the closest thing I found would be a definition of your German term(s) and
I make a very tentative suggestion : durable, decorative hem(s)
hemmed edges/seams or faced hems

Kofferband
