Während vom Standpunkt der gewöhnlichen Sichtweise aus der Glaube am Leitfaden der Orientierungsdifferenz von Real/Ideal nur ein anderer Standpunkt im selben Horizont ist, kommt die gewöhnliche Sichtweise vom Standpunkt des Glaubens aus als eine grundsätzlich andere Totalperspektive in den Blick. So wird der Wechsel zum Glauben vom Standpunkt der gewöhnlichen Sichtweise aus als ein relativer Wechsel von einem nichtreligiösen zu einem religiösen oder einem religiösen zu einem anders bestimmten religiösen Leben beschrieben, nicht aber als absoluter oder radikaler Wechsel in ein neues Leben.

What is the "umgekehrt" referring to? The first thing that comes to mind is "fundamental relationships" whereby the "totale" becomes superfluous. It would help to know what comes before this paragraph, to know what is being compared.

It appears that it may be a metaphor, since many of the hits for internet searches have to do with engineering and refer tension between two materials.

Explanation:
My submission would be as follows:
"Conversely, from the perspective of faith (arising) out of two absolute contexts of orientation that are disparate and correlated, it becomes possible and essential to position and depict the life of every human being and that of humanity at large from the difference between two non-interchangeable absolute perspectives."

'Orientation' is belief and thus I would stick to the term. I am not too sure however of the 'absolute perspective' here without the context.
