German term or phrase: passive (Suizidgedanken)
Dear All,

I'm uncertain how to translate 'passiv' in the sentence below:

"[Der Patient) berichtet von passiven Suizidgedanken, keine handlungsleitenden Gedanken".

So while the patient may well consider suicide, I'm guessing he's not at the stage where he actively plans to carry it out.

Any ideas how to put 'passiv' here into an acceptable form in English?

Kind regards,
Alison.
