this is the sentence from a book by PW, a famous German author dealing with the GDR:

"und es würde kein Kenntlicher kommen, den leeren Platz zu füllen, sie müßten selber mächtig werden dieses einzigen Griffs, dieser weit ausholenden und schwingenden Bewegung, mit der sie den furchtbaren Druck, der auf ihnen lastete, endlich hinwegfegen könnten..."

Explanation:
In einer bestehenden Übersetzung (siehe Google) wurde die Zeile als „no recognizable one will come to fill the empty place“ übersetzt. Ich weiß nicht, von wem und von wann diese Übersetzung stammt, aber das würde zur Defintion von „kenntlich“ passen (ein Kenntlicher wäre dann jemand, der kenntlich ist/jemand, der unterscheidbar und als das, was er ist, erkennbar ist).

„kenntlich sein (wahrnehmbar, unterscheidbar [und als das, was er, sie, es ist], erkennbar sein: sie war an ihrer Stimme kenntlich; 〈auch attributiv:〉 ein weithin kenntliches Zeichen; das Zeichen war weithin kenntlich)“
