What is the opposite of arbitrary? Something that means "demanding the assent of logice". My thesaurus isn't helping me find a term for this context.

Explanation:
Not a precise translation in general terms but taken in context. Aesthetic judgment is not something, the author argues, that can be based on logic, but it demands to be considered absolute. I am not sure 'authoritative' is necessarily quite right, because that is prescriptive. I think we need something than means 'obligatory' (verbindlich).
