inspirational speech Explanation: In diesem Zusammenhang wird "Impuls" im Sinn eines Anstoßes verwendet. "Inspirational" is probably closer to the original meaning than "motivational", because motivation seems to suggest that the listeners are unmotivated (for various reasons) and needed to be motivated. |

agenda-setting speech (remarks) Explanation: "Groundbreaking" speech would work, too (even without the groundbreaking ceremony) The point of such a speech is to provide fresh insights into a topic and/or suggest a course of action. A keynote speech, for instance, only 'speaks' to the perceived importance/popularity of the speaker. That's not what this is about. Neither is "inspirational" or similar ideas. Any speech can be inspirational/motivational without being insightful intellectually. Given the distinction between "Keynotes" and "Impulsreden", I'd go with one of Andrew Swift's suggestions. |
