German term or phrase: vor Calcium

I'm translating a document about the effects of magnesium deficiency, and have come across a use of a preposition that is frustrating me. What does "vor Calcium" mean in the following sentences?

"Neben vielen anderen Symptomen sind vor Calcium die chronischen Schlafstörungen ein Hinweis auf Magnesiummangel und führen in der Folge zu Depressionen und völliger Erschöpfung."

"Vor Calcium muss eine verlässliche Diagnose stehen, um sicherzustellen, dass eine Magnesiumtherapie wirklich zur Linderung der Beschwerden beitragen kann."

"Die Einnahme der AntiBaby-Pille über lange Zeiträume, Antibiotika und Cortison, vor Calcium aber auch permanenter Stress können die Funktion der Nebennieren massiv beeinträchtigen."

I would really appreciate any help.

check with customer, there seems to be no other way to solve this questionable problem.
Using Calcium as a surname in this context really doesn't make any sense ... If it read "für Calcium", using it as a surname would be okay, however not with "vor"

"vor" does not mean "according to"; either the German text is wrong or your interpretation.
Are you sure that "calcium" is a surname? There is a place called Calcium in Queensland.

I just saw the answer to this: Calcium is the name of an author of an article in the bibliography (it was a long article; I apologize for not seeing it before I posted this question). So I assume it would be "according to (Prof.) Calcium," which makes perfect sense in all contexts, although I have not see "vor" used in this way.

Jetzt erschließt sich mir die mögliche Logik besser - den Zusammenhang hatte ich vorher nicht so klar und eindeutig hergestellt. Trotzdem bleibt etwas unsicher, ob diese Interpretation zutrifft. Ich würde nach wie vor den Kunden fragen.

Calcium (Kalzium) und Magnesium tragen zum Energiestoffwechsel bei, d.h. beide sind für die reibungslose Funktion zwischen Nervenzellen und Muskeln zuständig. Durch zu wenig Magnesium im Blut lassen die Zellwände mehr Kalzium durch, d.h. die verfügbare Kalzium-Konzentration im Blut sinkt. Zunächst muss also Magnesium substituiert werden, bei Kalziummangel dann auch Kalzium. Daher ist die Aussage "Vor der Einnahme von Calcium" korrekt. Auch in den übrigen Beispielen ist dies gerechtfertigt. Cortison baut Calcium ab, daher sollte bei Cortisontherapie Calcium substituiert werden.

To be honest, I don't see the logic of 'vor der Einnahme von Calcium' here:

"Vor der Einnahme von Calcium muss eine verlässliche Diagnose stehen, um sicherzustellen, dass eine Magnesiumtherapie wirklich zur Linderung der Beschwerden beitragen kann."

Explanation:
Admittedly, this is quite a long shot but 'vor Calcium' wouldn't make any sense at all in these instances. I suspect this to be a transcription/speech recognition error for 'vor allem'.
